wave3k (\wāv-thrē-kā\)wave3k is an independent company, privately run and owned and specialising in freelance web development and design. It is based in the United Kingdom but offers its services worldwide over the internet.
I have many years of experience on computers and the world wide web and over time have gained valuable skills and knowledge and utilise these in efficient website solutions, effective computing systems and contemporary designs.

SkillsI can confidently write successful products, scripts and programs in HTML, XHTML, SHTML, PHP, JavaScript, JScript, CSS, XML (including RSS), XSL(T), HTA and WML.
As well as this I have experience with and can use such industry-standard and lesser known programs as PHP Designer 200x, Microsoft Notepad, Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Paint, Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Fireworks, Adobe Flash, Adobe Photoshop, IrfanView, ArcSoft PhotoStudio, MatchWare Mediator, PTC ProDESKTOP, 2D Design Tools, FRED, TED and much more.
I can also work for and on different browsers and different platforms such as Microsoft Windows, most distributions of Linux and Mac OS(X). I am able to configure and use lots of different hardware and configurations as well.
In addition, I am able to install, update, moderate and administer web-based tools such as blogging platforms (e.g. WordPress) and forum software (e.g. MyBB), and I am able to maintain or update existing web sites.
On top of all this I am an official tester of many products for Microsoft, including Windows Live products, software and services of which I have an extensive knowledge and am able to offer support, guidance and other help for.

I offer various services and am able to do most jobs - for companies, organisations, charities or individuals - although cost, time scale and even acceptance of jobs in the first place varies for each different request. wave3k 2.0 is here! - Tuesday 7th Aug 07 (12:30 BST)So finally after literally years of on/off development (more off than on obviously) I've decided to "release" wave3k 2.0! This is actually more like version 5 or 6 of wave3k but seeing as it includes "web 2.0" type effects and scripting and as it is only the second version on this domain I decided to go with 2.0.
Basically I recoded the temporary design that I had to make it valid CSS and XHTML and then worked from the ground up to make the JavaScript "application" that powers the whole site using AJAX and the PHP powered news system that runs on a MySQL database.
As far as I'm aware the whole site should be cross-browser and cross-platform compatible; if you find any bugs or problems then send me an email if you want or IM if you can. (However saying that, there is a small issue with versions of Internet Explorer lower than 7 [aka 6 and 5.5] where there is a large gap between the bottom row and the top two when no content is being shown - this should be fixed soon.)
In the next version I'm planning on tweaking the GUI a bit: changing the main background image and the main colours to go with it and maybe making the main content/text area a bit bigger too. As well as this I'm going to add an AJAX powered form to the contact page to make it easier to contact me.
They'll probably be some other changes as well although I don't know how long any of it will take as I have quite a few other things to work on too. Enjoy the new version
